Spread over 1.5 acre campus in a quiet and up market area of industrial town of Birgunj, houses one of the premiere and foremost public schools of the city, G.H.P School.

Steeped in tradition, the school shares its history with the Nationalist Movement of the country. Therefore as it has in the past, it continues to produce and nurture the builders and innovators of a modern Nepal. The founding father Late Mr. Tarlok Singh set up the school as an experiment in education with the belief that growth is inherent in all dynamic ideas. A product of visionary heads, the school is secular in nature and believes in imparting education free from all reservations and prejudices. It follows the close interconnection of the physical, moral and intellectual as its axiom of a sound system of education.

The school is affiliated to Nepal Board of Education, the foremost examining body of the country.  It offers a curriculum from Nursery to 10th grade, inclusive of one national level exam at the 10th grade and a district level exam at 8th grade. So far the school has had 12 batches of SLC passed out with 100% result including district toppers and distinctions. School is part residential thus extending opportunities to outstation students as well.

The school boasts of state of the art infrastructure with science, math and language laboratories. The buildings house independent labs and computer resource centers. It also has two libraries, an audio-visual room and a CD library for the students. The teaching is supported by updated technology and teachers use OHP, LCD projectors, smart boards, internet access, computers and digital library having more than 1000 CDs, and teaching software inside the classroom.

The school views the spirit of sportsmanship as a mark of leadership and is renowned for its sports facilities and achievements. Table Tennis facility, Athletic Track and large open fields with independent playing facilities for Hockey, Football and Cricket. The school takes pride in producing sportsmen and women of both national and international level in various sports.

As a part of the vision, an inter-cultural and multi cultural ethos exists and the students learn through exchange programmes, international participations and get many opportunities to reflect their talent and creativity. The school offers opportunities to students to show case their talent through exhibitions, annual celebrations and house functions. Dance, Music (vocal as well as instrumental), Art, Batik, Tie and Dye, Sculpture, Ceramics, Woodwork, Photography, Paper Technology and Sustainable development are some of the engaging activities offered to the students, during their school years.

G.H.P School has always been conscious of a sense of community wellbeing and spares no opportunity to inculcate in its students a sensitivity towards the less privileged. Through the activities of the Interact Club the students are sensitized towards various issues regarding Child Abuse, Care of the Elderly, Drugs and HIV-AIDS awareness.

The music classes makes the school culture centric without losing respect for the western classical and fusion music across the continents. International Concerns such as Global Warming, Environmental Issues, Wild Life Conservation etc. are discussed in forums both national and international, through club activities. Personality development programs are conducted regularly across the board to inculcate leadership among children. Trips and Treks form another dimension through which the intangible learnings are imbibed.

A strong counseling department with highly experienced and qualified counselors provides guidance and emotional support to the student community. This is further extended through a very successful programme run by Peer Trainers who assist the teachers in dealing with peer issues. The department also offers Career Guidance and Admission Counseling. 

The Management and the Principal of the school believe in leadership and provide the faculty with an enabling and empowering atmosphere so that they can create independently acting and thinking global individuals who have big dreams for their community, country and the world.
